PACKINGTON was built by Harland and Wolff, Belfast as Yard Number 1585.
Commissioned into the South African Navy on 20th September 1959 and re-named WALVISBAAI, she undertook patrols and fishery protection duties, visiting ports as distant as Gabon and Mauritius.
In 1991 she had an extensive refit and conversion to Patrol Craft, repalcing the influence sweeps with additional armament and boarding capability..
She retired in March 2001 and in 2003 was sold to Walt Disney Pictures to star in the film ‘THE LIFE AQUATIC’.
In 2011/12 she was converted into a luxury yacht in Dubai and named “MOJO” to a specification of her new owner, a former officer of the Shah of Iran's Navy.

After a couple of seasons swanning around the Mediterranean, based on Monte Carlo, she was sold and the new owners re-located her to the Caribbean

May have been significant in Kingdom of Mercia under Offa and Aethelbald, but records are vague.
Name possibly from Saxon " Pacca's Place", first known as Packington in 1043.
Mentioned in Domesday Book.
Transfers of title to lands from Middle Ages to early Twentieth Century, with some open cast mining, but the area has always been predominately agricultural and is now considered picturesque.
