DUMBLETON was built by Harland and Wolff, Belfast; Yard Number 1583

Commissioned into the South African Navy on 28th October 1959 and re-named ‘PORT ELIZABETH‘. She was laid up in 1985, sold to SA Metal Co’ in September 1988 and broken up at Table Bay in 1989.

In Gloucestershire, near Tewkwsbury, 20 miles from Gloucester.

Known to have existed in the time of Aethelred 1 (the Unready), who garnted the land to Abingdon Abbey.
