
HMS SWANSTON, M1185 was sold to the Royal Australian Navy in 1962 and spent over 20 years on active service.
When she was sold off privately, she was painted bright yellow and re-named m/v ‘TROUBLESHOOTER’.
As HMAS GULL she participated in patrols and gun actions off the coasts of North Borneo and Malayan peninsula during Confrontation with Indonesia 1964-66
VILLAGE
Now part of Edinburgh, originally developed to house workers on Swan Farm in 18th century. The farm traces its origins to 13th century.
Name derives from Norse " Svein's Farm" and first appears in 1214.
Area owned by Knights Templar in 12 and 14th centuries.
Played a significant role in bringing fresh water to Edinburgh.
