RN Dockyard Chatham, not a Ton base as per Vernon & others but played a significant role in the life of certain ships

Chatham Dockyard contained a “Small Craft Refit Group (SCRG)” which attended to the needs of Ton Class vessels. So far we have records of HMS Stubbington under refit from 01-04-1976 to 18-06-1977. Killiecrankie also refitted at Chatham. Upon sailing she collided with a Tramp Steamer in the Channel. HMS Soberton had a 75 week refit starting in 1979.
