HMS Portisham- whilst serving with RNXS on 15 August 1973, en route Gosport to Scheveningen, Holland.

At 1500 hrs, approx 1,500 meters off the beach at Waasenaar near Scheveningen, PORTISHAM  was the first ship on scene at the ditching of Royal Dutch Navy Breguet 1150 Atlantic no 257 at 1500 hours. 14 crew all survived the crash, Portisham took two survivors on board as far as I can remember, but then transferred them to shore lifesaving boats. I was a witness, being a Sea Cadet then on board. https://www.baaa-acro.com/crash/crash-breguet-bre1150-atlantic-wassenaar

Portisham is now a liveaboard in Ireland.  Just having the second of two , 9-litre Scania truck engines installed to replace the Cummins that sat beside an older Scania.

We are slowly bringing her back to seaworthiness after storm Emma and her 2 sisters gave her a bashing in Balbriggan Harbour.
